Karen Spencer Dees, PhD is a Doctor of Holistic Nutrition and often referred to by her patients as The Family Nutritionist. Her nutritional background includes being Board Certified in Holistic Nutrition. She is Dr. Karen Spencer Dees, PhD, Holistic Board CertifiedAdjunct Faculty as well as a curriculum writer for Clayton College of Natural Health. She holds a B.S., M.S. and Doctorate of Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College of Natural Health where she was awarded high honors in all three degrees. Her expertise includes whole body nutrition, women’s health, hormonal imbalance, children’s nutrition and ADD/ADHD.

Dr. Dees is Board Certified by the American Alternative Medical Association and the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She is also Board Certified in Holistic Nutrition. She is a member of the American Holistic Health Association, the Holistic Pediatric Association and the National Association for Nutrition Professionals. She received national distinction by her Alma Mata in 2000 for her work in Women’s health. Her achievements were showcased at Clayton College.

Dr. Dees is currently in Private Practice in Sudbury, MA. Her broad knowledge of the body and its nutritional needs combine with an understanding that each individual is unique and requires specialized attention. She works closely with her patients to identify their needs, and then translates the gained knowledge into a plan for incorporating it into daily living.

Dr. Dees educates women on how to regain hormonal balance in the body. She is the author of “Eating Right for Your Hormonal Health,” A Manual for Endometriosis and Other Endocrine Disorders. She has also authored extensive related nutritional health programs for endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, infertility, menopause, perimenopause, early menopause, building the immune system, building the digestive tract, food sensitivities, yeast-free programs and more.

Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADD/ADHD) is a prominent challenge for many parents and children today. Dr. Dees works individually with children suffering from ADD/ADHD, while also conducting regular peer seminars for medical practitioners and patients on related subjects.

Dr. Dees’ also specializes in holistic nutrition for children and pregnancy, including baby’s very first “solid meals”. Her work with women before, during and after conception addresses the overall nutritional needs for the health of the mother and the child.

As a well-known lecturer, Dr. Dees’ doctoral dissertation on nutrition and endometriosis, as well as her work with women’s health, led to her prestigious position at Helena Women’s Health at the Stanford Professional Center in Palo Alto, California.

She is co-founder of  “Sister’s Hand in Hand,” based in San Francisco, CA. This health advocacy group  will be  a resource center for Patients of Environmental Toxins, Endometriosis and other Endocrine disorders. “By first examining the severity of our nation’s health crisis, addressing each barrier and then working to connect people and resources, Sister’s Hand in Hand goal is health advocacy. “We will provide the patient with the health action tools and empowerment methods that include educational resources and support systems

For over 18 years, Dr. Dees is the owner of Dees International Marketing, a thriving business which exclusively offers a line of organic herbal products from Sunrider International. Sunrider maintains a stringent quality control process and offers superior quality on the more than 400 healthy products She uses Sunrider both personally and professionally.

As a successful business entrepreneur, Dr. Dees developed her business from the ground up. Today she has over 100,000 distributors worldwide and continues to grow.

She is married to Jeffery Dees and they have four beautiful children all adopted from South Korea.  They currently reside in Framingham, MA where she is in private practice.

2001            Eating Right for Your Hormonal Health: a detailed study of 15 women under the age of 35 experiencing symptoms of early menopause. Utilizing the Eat Right for Your Hormonal Health nutritional program designed by Dr. Karen Spencer Dees, 50 of the most common symptoms were either reduced in severity or disappeared completely.
